Explorer Teacher

As an Explorer Teacher at Primrose School of Fishers Parkside, you'll help care for little ones aged 5 to 10 who are enrolled in our after school program. You'll implement a fun and flexible curriculum with student-led projects that focus on leadership, character development and design thinking.
This position is Monday through Friday. Shifts are flexible, but generally begin at 2:00 p.m. and end at 6 p.m. The Explorer after-school day is 2:30-6:00, but we can shift position start earlier if desired to be full time. (full time for benefits would be 11:30-6:00)

- Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
- Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School at Gray Eagle and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
- Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum and programming.
- Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
- Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
- Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
- Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School at Gray Eagle Employee Handbook.
- Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of children
