Overview
The Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Manager leads the integration of advanced modeling, coordination, and visualization technologies across both the design and construction phases of projects. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining 3D models, managing MEPFP coordination, executing project-specific BIM plans, and supporting reality capture and drone initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, safety, and constructability. PositionResponsibilities
- Leadership in the initiatives outlined above
- Develop, manipulate, and maintain 3D models for specific projects for use during preconstruction and construction
- Support company drone and reality capture program
- Manage MEP coordination on projects
- Develop and execute Project Specific BIM plans
- Assist team members with continually evolving customer and project specific needs
- Support operations, estimating, marketing, business development, quality control and safety initiatives
- Leverage software and technology to support estimating and operations
- Possess understanding of general construction practices and techniques
- Develop and maintain content catalogs and libraries for 3D modeling purposes
- Continuing education in marketplace trends and technology advances
- Training and support of Meyer Najem staff on VDC software and processes
- A degree in Construction Management or Construction/Civil Engineering/Architecture strongly preferred OR several years of field experience in construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Computer Graphics
- 3-6 years of experience in the construction industry with minimum 1-year direct BIM/VDC responsibilities preferred
- Experience with coordinating MEP trades is preferred
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Auto Cad and Bluebeam is required
- Experience with Sketch Up, Lumion, or other rendering software is required
- Advanced knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office is required
