Works under general direction with moderate supervision. Designs and details Standard and/or Custom large scale industrial equipment, utilizing acquired technical skills and acceptable design criteria, within projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager. All new designs and drawings to be created within Autodesk Inventor software, as compliant with Engineering Department's design Guidelines.
Position Responsibilities- Design and optimization of mechanical components for mechanical powertrain systems
- Design fabricated Weldments and machined components
- Components include frames, brackets, shafts, couplings, flanges, housing, clutches, etc.
- Analysis of mechanical systems
- Analysis and specification of electro‑mechanical and electro‑hydraulic systems
- Develops manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards
- Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer‑generated reports
- Confer with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and time management skills
- Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software
- Self‑motivated and highly organized

- Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge
- Willingness to learn and ask questions
- Proficient in 3D CAD modeling
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Analyze customer design proposals and specifications
- Ability to meet with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand needs and requirements
- Understand mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience
- Exposure to Robotics and Industrial Automation
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor
- Experience with Autodesk Vault
- Plasma CNC programming experience
- Data entry of Bill of Materials and Routings into ERP / MRP system
