Job SummaryTuttle Railings, a Dant Clayton Division, offers opportunities for candidates to join an exciting and growing company in the world of railing design, fabrication, and construction. The Design Automation Specialist – Inventor iLogic performs a variety of activities to support the design department in delivering 3D fabrication-ready part files to the in-house manufacturing department using Autodesk Inventor, while also managing a library of parametric parts in Autodesk Vault.
This role will help shape the organization by leveraging 3D design technology and processes aligned with company objectives. Tuttle Railings, a Dant Clayton Division, is seeking a candidate who can bring fresh ideas to the table and collaboratively improve Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) principles and design automation processes within a fast-growing team.
- Create, maintain, and organize custom Autodesk Inventor parts and assemblies within Vault for fabrication teams.
- Lead development of Inventor & Vault processes with automation (iLogic, Power Shell, Cool Orange, etc.), including the creation of parametric parts and assemblies.
- Maintain standard processes for Inventor & Vault with internal/external design partners and other Dant Clayton stakeholders (manufacturing department).
- Implement Autodesk Inventor & Vault as a part of the standard design & manufacturing processes to streamline information transfer from design to manufacturing.
- Integrate design data into the company ERP (INFOR Cloud Suite Site Line) for reporting.
- Attend and participate in cross-functional team meetings; collaborate on vision and execution of company initiatives to improve design processes.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of Dant Clayton products, identify opportunities for improvement (value engineering), and make constructive suggestions for change.
- Communicate processes, automation, and logic to downstream designers to ensure a clear understanding of design and drafting processes.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with an educational background in manufacturing, construction, architecture, or engineering.
- Certificate in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (preferred) and/or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in designing automation and workflows for manufacturing parametric assemblies and parts.
- General understanding of manufacturing/design practices and principles; familiarity with structural framing requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage/coordinate software implementation (Inventor or similar) for design and manufacturing processes.
- Self-starter who is focused, articulate, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and CAD; familiarity with other 3D software, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products.

- Salary position based on a 40-hour work week; overtime may be required to meet project needs.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
