Controls Estimator Team Leader – Great Lakes Region

• Lead the Great Lakes Region Controls Estimating Team.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC controls projects, including materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities.
• Develop project scopes based on plans, specifications, or design-build requirements.
• Create system sketches, scope definitions, exclusions, preliminary proposals, vendor/sub‑contractor quotes, and points lists.
• Perform quantity take‑off and pricing of purchased equipment, verifying accuracy of size, configuration, voltage, and options.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and risk items across projects.
• Maintain competitiveness by staying current with industry standards.
• Define scope of work for subcontractors and negotiate prices through vendor quotations.
• Participate in pre‑bid meetings with Account Managers to review scope and strategy.
• Assist Account Managers in determining the need for outsourced engineering and coordinate with Operations/ Fulfillment to control cost variations through pre‑bid validation and post‑mortems.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 1–3 years of estimating, engineering, construction management, or control systems experience; or 3–5 years of field experience in controls; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Preferable experience working directly with building owners or contractors.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HVAC systems or temperature controls.
• Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as required.
• Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major traffic violations.
