Job Overview
Trane Technologies is hiring a Controls Engineering Specialist I in Indiana. The role focuses on hardware and software design activities for building automation and control systems.
Work schedule:
Monday‑Thursday onsite, Friday remote or flexible as required.
- Design commercial comfort control and automation systems under supervision.
- Obtain and review contract documents, proposals, mechanical plans, specifications, estimates, and equipment submittals for integration into system design.
- Create installation drawings, submittal drawings, and sequences of operation for efficient project deployment.
- Conduct on‑site project surveys to determine control solutions.
- Transition design documents to the field and manage the creation of as‑built drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, and transition to the service department.
- Follow engineering standards and seek guidance from mentor/manager.
- Previous HVAC industry experience as a technician, project manager, estimator, or equivalent education and work experience.
- Knowledge of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, building automation systems, and/or temperature controls is preferred.
- Experience with CAD programs and basic understanding of electrical drawings and schematics is preferred.
- Team oriented, organized, and able to maintain detailed records.
- Some travel to construction sites within the district may be required.
