Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Business Finance Partner to support our Consumer Banking operating segment. This role will serve as a trusted finance partner to business leaders, providing financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision support. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience translating financial data into actionable insights that drive business performance, profitability, and growth. This position requires strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence decision-making through data-driven analysis.

Essential

Functions
  • Partner with Consumer Banking Lending leadership to provide financial analysis and strategic guidance.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, including variance analysis and performance reviews.
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts, budgets, and long-range planning models for both revenue generating business units and support functions.
  • Analyze key business drivers, trends, profitability, and performance metrics to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and financial packages for senior management.
  • Support business case development, pricing analysis, product profitability reviews, and investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, Risk, and Business Line teams to ensure alignment of financial results and forecasts.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and enhance financial reporting and forecasting capabilities.
  • Assist in annual strategic planning, budgeting, and stress-testing exercises.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
Additional Essential Functions
  • Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
  • Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), financial reporting, forecasting, or related finance functions.
  • Experience supporting business lines within a banking or financial services environment with working knowledge of banking concepts such as funds transfer pricing.
  • Strong understanding of consumer banking, wealth management, deposits, and related financial performance drivers.
  • Proven ability to develop financial models, forecasts, and executive-level reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions through financial insights and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation.
  • Experience with Workday Financials, Adaptive Planning, or other enterprise financial management (ERP/EPM) systems.
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory reporting and profitability methodologies.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
