Audit and Reimbursement II

Virtual: This role enables associates to work virtually full‑time, with the exception of required in‑person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work‑life integration, and ensures essential face‑to‑face onboarding and skill development. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The Audit & Reimbursement II supports our Medicare Administrative Contract (MAC) with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Under guided supervision, the role provides experience on the Medicare cost report and Medicare Part A reimbursement. The position offers training for contractual workload, special projects, and opportunities for certification and professional development.

How you will make an impact
  • Perform cost report desk reviews.
  • Assist on cost report audits and may serve as an in‑charge auditor on less complex audits.
  • Analyze and interpret data from a provider’s trial balance, financial statements, and related healthcare records.
  • Make recommendations for change based on judgment and experience.
  • Prepare detailed work papers and present findings in accordance with Government Auditing Standards (GAS) and CMS requirements.
  • Gain experience with applicable federal laws, regulations, policies, and audit procedures.
  • Respond timely and accurately to customer inquiries.
  • Ability to multi‑task while independently and effectively prioritizing work using time‑management, initiative, project management, and problem‑solving skills.
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Foreign national applicants must meet CMS TDL 190275 residency requirement: living in the United States for at least three of the past five years.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences
  • Degree in Accounting.
  • Knowledge of CMS program regulations and cost report format.
  • Knowledge of CMS computer systems and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • MBA, CPA, or CIA.

Salary range for this position is $56,960–$89,712, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
