The primary responsibility of the Pharmacist in Charge is to ensure adherence to facility SOPs and procedures, adhere to state and federal regulations, and indirectly supervise pharmacist workflow. The PIC works directly with the LTC Operations Manager to achieve production goals, assist with investigations, oversee daily operational pharmacy duties, monitor training, and collaborate with the training and compliance team to ensure all training is up-to-date.
Under indirect supervision, the PIC assists with all aspects of pharmacy operations, ensuring services comply with professional standards and applicable laws. They exercise broad judgment in the professional field, requiring extensive subject‑matter knowledge and expertise, while keeping senior leadership fully informed of operating issues and results.
