PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Fishers Hospital
This position is available Monday through Friday. The technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involving the use of radiopharmaceuticals to conduct body function studies, organ imaging, and analysis of biological specimens.
Key responsibilities include following physician instructions, preparing and operating equipment, positioning patients accurately, handling radiopharmaceuticals during receipt, storage, administration, and disposal, managing hazardous chemicals, and adhering to all hospital, state, and federal policies and regulations regarding radioactive materials and body fluids.
Qualifications- 0–3 years of relevant experience
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise patient positioning when needed
- Active status as either a Registered Technologist – Nuclear Medicine (RT(NM)) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, or a recent graduate of an approved training program (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential within 6 months of hire.
- For SPECT/CT or PET/CT duties, certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required within 18 months of hire through ARRT or NMTCB.
- Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist is required.
