Talent Acquisition - University Relations Specialist
Fishers, IN (with reach into Fort Wayne and Louisville) | Human Resources | Full-Time
Hagerman is one of the Midwest's leading commercial construction firms, and we're building our future workforce one relationship at a time. We're looking for a Talent Acquisition & University Relations Specialist to own our early-career talent strategy from the first campus handshake to the first day on the job.
If you love the energy of a career fair, the satisfaction of watching an intern grow into a full-time hire, and the challenge of building something from the ground up, this role was built for you.
What You'll Own- Campus relationships that matter.Serve as Hagerman's face on college and university campuses, building real partnerships with career services offices, faculty, and student organizations, not just showing up once a year with a table and some pens.
- The full internship experience.Run our internship program end to end: recruiting, onboarding, mentor matching, development activities, and the kind of experience that turns interns into full-time hires.
- Entry-level hiring.Source, screen, and coordinate hiring for internship, co-op, and entry-level roles, with a sharp eye on candidate experience and compliant, consistent process.
- New hire onboarding.Make sure every new employee walks in the door on day one feeling prepared and excited, not scrambling for a badge.
- Employer brand.Bring Hagerman's story to life on social media and in the recruiting tools and technology that help us compete for top talent.
- A degree (or equivalent experience) and genuine interest in talent acquisition, HR, or workforce development
- Experience with ATS platforms, candidate management systems, or a fast willingness to learn them
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills. You're as comfortable presenting to a classroom as you are messaging a hiring manager
- Working knowledge of employment law and a commitment to fair, compliant hiring practices
- Curiosity about where HR is headed, including comfort using AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly to work smarter, not just faster
- Construction industry experience is a plus, but not required. We'll teach you the industry if you bring the talent instinct
We're a company that builds things that last, and that includes careers. You'll have real ownership over a program that shapes our future workforce, a seat at the table with leadership, and the chance to make your mark on how the next generation experiences Hagerman for the first time.
Our comprehensive benefits package for regular, full-time employees includes:
- Company-wide annual incentive program
- Paid holidays
- Paid time off (starting at 4 weeks per year )
- Market-leading medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement program with company match
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Optional employer-paid life and AD&D insurance
- Continuing education and professional development opportunities
- Support for volunteer and community involvement
- Career pathing and growth opportunities
- The Hagerman Institute – customized learning and development
- A thriving, collaborative culture
- Parental leave
