Power BI Developer

Knowledge Business Services (KBS) is a leading multidisciplinary organization supporting software, professional services, and technology solutions across regulated government and commercial markets. KBS provides shared services and governance for multiple operating entities, including Knowledge Services, RAMPquest, RAMPxchange, dot Staff, and other mission-focused business units.

KBS is seeking a Power BI Developer to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and data visualization initiatives across corporate shared services. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining Microsoft Power BI dashboards, enabling data-driven decision-making, and supporting modern analytics solutions integrated with Microsoft Azure data platforms.

The Power BI Developer will collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and leadership to deliver high-quality dashboards, reporting automation, and innovative visualization approaches

• Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Power BI dashboards and reports to support enterprise business needs
• Build visually compelling, user-friendly analytics solutions for internal stakeholders
• Enhance dashboard usability through modern visualization techniques and best practices
• Data Modeling & Integration
• Work with relational databases and SQL-based data sources to support reporting requirements
• Develop and optimize data models, measures, and calculated fields within Power BI
• Support integration with Azure-based data platforms, including Azure SQL and related services
• Advanced Analytics Support
• Apply statistical and analytical techniques to support meaningful insights across business functions
• Utilize Python or R for statistical calculations and analytics beyond built-in Power BI capabilities when needed
• Support data exploration, trend analysis, and executive-level reporting
• Partner with cross-functional corporate teams to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting workflows and improve data accessibility
• Explore innovative visualization methods (e.g., D3.js or custom visuals) where appropriate
• Participate in Agile delivery practices and iterative development cycles

Power BI Developer Qualifications:

• Prior professional experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports
• Strong working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
• Analytical and statistical skills, including calculations such as variance, correlation, and significance testing
• Experience using Python or R to support advanced analytics and statistical modeling
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate business needs into actionable reporting solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data services (Azure SQL, data pipelines, etc.)
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Background supporting enterprise-wide reporting or corporate analytics programs
