Project Engineer, Cloud Computing

As a Braden Business Systems Project Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting IT projects for our clients. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver solutions that align with business goals, ensuring seamless deployment and minimal disruption. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced MSP environment.

• Plan, design, and implement IT infrastructure projects for clients, including network setups, cloud migrations, server deployments, and cybersecurity solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and clients to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
• Configure and deploy hardware and software solutions, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to networking, servers, and cloud environments.
• Engineer and execute complex Microsoft 365 migrations including Exchange cutovers, tenant-to-tenant transitions, SharePoint Online data migrations & restructuring, and One Drive deployments using tools such as Bit Titans Migration wiz, Share Gate, and Microsoft Migration Manager.
• Deploy and optimize Microsoft 365 collaboration and governance frameworks, including SharePoint site architecture, retention policies, sensitivity labeling, and secure external sharing configurations.
• Lead migration and modernization efforts for client server environments into Azure, including on-prem to Azure VM migrations, sizing, performance optimization, and secure network integration.
• Deploy and support Azure-based infrastructure solutions such as Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Desktop/RDS environments, VPN gateways, VNets, etc. to enable scalable client workloads.
• Provide technical guidance and training to internal support teams and clients.
• Document project processes, configurations, and best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and security.

• 3+ years of experience in an MSP or IT consulting environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and Azure/AWS cloud services.
• Experience with networking (firewalls, switches, VPNs, VLANs) and security best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex IT issues.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Industry certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent) are a plus.

• Experience with scripting and automation (Power Shell, Bash, etc.).
• Knowledge of ITIL best practices.
• Familiarity with Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools.
