Job Description & How to Apply Below
Your weekend starts before sunrise. At 4:00am, you review the job ticket, proofs, and press instructions, then mount plates, dies, cylinders, anilox rolls, and doctor blades. You thread paper, film, or pressure‑sensitive label stock, dial in registration and impression, set web tension, fine‑tune ink viscosity, and verify drying or curing. Throughout the run you match color, scan barcodes, and watch for defects like dirty print, pinholing, plate bounce, registration variation, ink buildup, web breaks, or inconsistent color—making precise adjustments to keep quality on spec and downtime low.
You record production activity, material usage, waste, quality checks, and any downtime, communicate with Quality, Prepress, Ink, Maintenance, and Finishing, and keep the press area organized. Before clocking out, you perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and help coach Press Helpers as needed.
