About the Role:

The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement, storage, and management of materials within a warehouse or production environment. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming materials, as well as preparing and staging materials for shipment or production use. The Material Handler ensures that inventory levels are maintained accurately and that materials are handled safely to prevent damage or loss.

This role requires close collaboration with warehouse staff, production teams, and logistics personnel to support seamless operations. Ultimately, the Material Handler contributes to the overall productivity and operational success by maintaining an organized and well-stocked material flow system.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (certification preferred).
• Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in material handling.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced production or distribution environment.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
• Organize and store materials in designated locations to optimize space and accessibility.
• Prepare and stage materials for production lines or outbound shipments according to schedules.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and documentation.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to coordinate material flow and resolve discrepancies.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Skills:

The Material Handler uses physical strength and stamina daily to move and organize materials efficiently, ensuring smooth workflow. Attention to detail is essential when inspecting shipments and maintaining accurate inventory records to prevent errors and shortages. Operating forklifts and other equipment safely requires technical skill and adherence to safety protocols to protect oneself and coworkers. Communication skills are important for coordinating with team members and reporting any issues or discrepancies promptly.

Additionally, familiarity with inventory software and warehouse management systems enhances the ability to track materials and support operational efficiency.
