Overview

SHIFT:
Full-time Nights. This position is referral eligible. 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience is required. Full-time roles are eligible for a sign‑on bonus dependent on FTE.

Unit Description

IU Saxony Labor and Delivery consists of 4 OB ED beds, 12 LDRP rooms and 2 OR suites. The unit is a Level 2 LDRP and sees some high‑risk patients. An anesthesiologist and OB provider are on site 24/7. Patients remain with the team throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery and the postpartum period.

Nursing Skills and Responsibilities
  • Circulate in OB procedures in the OB OR
  • Triage OB patients
  • Manage each phase of pregnancy, delivery, and the post‑partum process
  • Collaborate with physicians

Qualifications
  • Associate of Nursing (ASN);
    Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty.

Exceptions:
Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to patient care policies.
