* per hour? Join our Department of Public Works seasonal team! The City of Fishers is hiring Seasonal Laborers to help with spring and summer street and road maintenance. These positions perform general labor supplementing the non-seasonal workforce to ensure city streets, sidewalks, grassy areas, and rights-of-way are maintained.
* Returning staff receive a step increase in wages.

We are hiring now for the following start dates: 5/13/26; 5/20/26; 6/3/26; 6/10/26 and are flexible on end dates for returning to school.

Examples of Duties

• Road and sidewalk repairs
• Maintenance of concrete and asphalt roads
• Rights-of-way maintenance
• Traffic control
• Mowing, trimming, weeding, and general landscaping of street medians and other roadside landscaping
• Event support
• Department of Public Works support duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Prefer 18 years of age or older but will consider younger qualified applicants;
• Valid Driver's License with 3 years of experience and the ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle is preferred but not required;
• Must be able and willing to work outside in all weather conditions;
• Position will be required to work some evenings, weekends and holiday hours
  ;
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs.;
• Ability to use tools, equipment, and machines as needed for daily work while following all safety protocols;
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a variety of people;
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
