Ace Retail Group (ARG) is a division of Ace Hardware Corporation that owns and operates several Ace brands, including Westlake Ace, Great Lakes Ace, Buikema's Ace, Outer Banks Ace, Dennis Company, and Breed & Company. ARG is one of the largest hardware retailers in the United States and operates over 250 neighborhood stores.

The Cashier is responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise.

• Project a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware.
• Greet customers entering the store and thank them by name when possible.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Build product knowledge base and assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise.
• Follow all cash register transaction procedures and balance register drawer.
• Adhere to Store Support Center programs or promotions that require implementation at the registers.
• Participate in store and cashier meetings.
• Maintain front end appearance: keep checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean, face and dust front end, assist in keeping impulse counters stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise with seasons, ensure fresh ads in shopping carts, maintain forms and supplies, decorate front end per program, call for cart pickups, inform management when merchandise returns need to be put away, perform other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Cashier experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25 lbs) and climbing.

$11.00 - $12.75 per hour.
