What You Will Do
- Develop and manage process for discovering client business needs and aligning with solutions.
- Evaluate projects and align process/solutions.
- Work directly and indirectly with clients on projects to confirm structured finance solutions.
- Client discovery and qualification.
- Work directly with client executives to develop financial pro forma and associated business case(s).
- Convert leads into opportunities by assigning appropriate sales process, identifying required project team members, making assignments, and communicating next steps.
- Understand macro market & finance trends & inform current offerings/projects.
- Directly monitor and engage clients to establish creative financial solutions that enhance/expand projects.
- Proactively engage with regional sales & leadership teams to develop/optimize strategies on priority projects.
- Stay abreast of current finance trends for emerging offerings & apply to current projects.
- Actively maintain market-oriented relationships (external) to support full set of offerings.
- Establish and advance Trane's thought leadership position in focus markets.
- Work directly with clients to establish key indicators to align/develop tailored offerings and close large deals or sales opportunities.
- Provide knowledge and consultation on financial drivers, legislation and requirements for energy and outcome-based sales.
- Maintain active relationships with regional energy services sales leaders & CSAEs.
- Support the growth of pipeline & project size with creative/accretive structured finance approaches.
- Maintain visible and active sales/project funnel using software tools.
- Work collaboratively with cross‑functional internal team of project development, energy engineering and project management to develop system‑related solutions with financial and performance considerations.
- Travel to customer job sites as required, including outdoor work and variable weather conditions.
- A bachelor of science degree or 4–8 years of demonstrated executive selling experience (preferred).
- 5+ years of executive sales experience, preferably within the MUSH market (municipal, utility, healthcare, education) with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Success in long, complex, multi‑tiered sales cycles in public and/or private sectors.
- Ability to engage multiple stakeholders, influencers, and key decision makers.
- Expertise in financial, legal, and technical aspects of deal structuring with multiple buying influences.
- Outstanding communication skills – ability to educate clients on Trane’s Design Build & Energy Services offerings, persuasively articulate costs, savings, investment opportunities and long‑term options for infrastructure renewal and decarbonization.
- Valid driver licence, state traffic laws compliance, no major violations in the past year.
