The Role
The Senior Analytical Chemist is responsible for being part of a research and development team for new products and systems for roofing and commercial building envelopes.
What You’ll Accomplish- Use various analytical software, techniques, and equipment to carry out research and analytical tasks independently, especially in spectroscopy, chromatography, and rheology areas, which include, but are not limited to Microscope‑FTIR, NMR, SEM, GC, GC/MS, pyrolysis GC/MS, LC, LC/MS, ICP‑MS, GPC, and rheometers.
- Familiar with polymer manufacturing and mixing processes.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate analytical equipment.
- Data Analysis and Reporting – Interpret complex scientific data, draw relevant conclusions, and effectively report and present technical results to internal teams.
- Quality and compliance – follow and author SOPs, investigate and resolve non‑conformities.
- Provides training and guidance on analytical tests, methods, and instrumentation, as required across R&D and Operations.
- Understand ASTM test methods.
- Develop/validate new analytical methods.
- Work safely in a laboratory environment.
- Support 5S and LEAN activities in the lab.
- Multi‑tasking and self‑motivated.
- Be familiar with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Education: PhD
- Field of Study Preferred: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field

10+ years of analytical experience - Travel Requirements: N/A
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved personal protection equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean‑shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
- Competitive Salary: $113,000–$132,000
