Summary:

The Technician, Facilities Repair is responsible for performing preventative and reparative maintenance of company interior and exterior premises. Performs repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance such as electrical, painting, and/or carpentry work of furniture, fixtures, and equipment on company premises. Conducts periodic inspections to determine repair work required. Maintains all equipment and tools necessary to perform work. Ensure all duties, support and services are conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of Freedom Mortgage.

Job Duties and

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform handyman and general facilities tasks.
  • Assure the safety and quality in all projects; maintain a clean safe work site.
  • Perform general demolition and refuse removal.
  • Perform painting and staining.
  • Perform HVAC, plumbing and electrical repairs and adjustments.
  • Replace worn or defective parts such as switches or fuses.
  • Repair or patch building brick, stone, and concrete.
  • Maintain and repair wood parts of building using carpenter tools.
  • Maintain inventory of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Accept and store all deliveries pertaining to work.
  • Coordinate activities with other in-house staff.
  • Immediately report issues, problems or defects/failures that may negatively impact the organization, staff, clients, or customers.
  • Communicate and coordinate with various department managers, peers, and senior staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned including but not limited to minor janitorial duties, assembling furniture and removal of office waste or recyclables.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
  • Exhibit a basic knowledge of job procedures and proficiency in the use of tools and equipment obtained through a combination of work experience and education.
  • Possess a well-rounded skill set/ability to perform hands-on carpentry skills.
  • Must be able to diagnose and problem solve, providing solutions to diverse tasks.
  • Well-organized and skilled in problem solving.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail completing work assignments safely, meeting, or exceeding quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills and positive attitude to provide clear explanations of work.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks.
  • Operate a motor vehicle legally in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Education and/or

Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training.
  • Minimum two (2) years of job related direct and proven experience as a handy-person in a residence, customer service, and/or professional services environment.
  • Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
Work Complexity:

Problems are typically of a routine nature but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures.

Skills:



Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate information that requires some explanation or interpretation. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical

Skills:



Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
