Hourly Wage

Work Hours

Mon – Fri plus weekends, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm.

Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Site Operations Manager to ensure all facility‑related equipment is maintained to the highest standards in the Hard Services line. The Maintenance Technician also partners with the Site Operations Supervisor to support success across all service lines (hard, soft, and operational) and embodies the OneISS (one team) methodology of facility operations.

Core functions of this role involve solving non‑complex (single system) maintenance and repair of a building’s shell, core, and equipment. The purpose is to keep facilities safe and reliable for clients, customers, and staff, executing a best‑practice preventative and reactive maintenance program and resolving immediate operational or safety concerns. Success in this role is measured by providing safe and reliable building systems that support our client’s business needs.

The technician may work alone on shift and is a point of contact for the client, responding to escalations and communicating professionally at all times.

Ideal Candidate Experience
  • High‑school diploma or vocational or trade school/college required
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC skills including knowledge of the corresponding tools in these trades
  • Communication skills to translate basic technical information to those with and without a technical background
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working in noisy environments (with required PPE), standing for long periods, crawling, climbing, and operating various equipment
  • Valid state driver’s license; may require travel by car within a specific metropolitan region
  • Demonstrated professional and customer service aptitude
  • Basic computer proficiency (Word, Outlook, CMMS, Smartphone systems)
Key Accountabilities
  • Self‑performance of primary preventative (PMs) and reactive maintenance (RMs) work orders including patch/painting of walls, door/lock hardware repairs and installation, installation and mounting of building fixtures, minor plumbing repairs, safety eyewash/shower inspections, fire extinguisher inspections, overhead lighting bulb replacement, roof inspections, light snow removal and walkway salting (cold‑weather regions), building safety inspections, kitchen equipment inspections, café equipment specialty cleaning, shopping tool repairs, HVAC and water system filter replacements, hot/cold calls, proactive mitigation of slip, trip, and fall hazards, effective LOTO compliance, and adherence to all health and safety requirements for on‑site staff and subcontractors
  • Use of CMMS system software for work order management (PC & mobile)
  • Follow 5S principles for organization and cleanliness of front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house spaces
  • Order supplies for PMs and RMs as needed and manage tool crib inventory to meet SLA uptime
  • Complete detailed records of all work in the CMMS system
  • Conduct frequent equipment rounds and readings to detect malfunctions, recording data as required
  • Escort and direct site vendors as required
  • Serve as 1st‑line support on call to address escalations or emergencies
  • Handle all customer complaints professionally, appropriately, and in a timely manner
