Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable

Construction Equipment Service Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of construction equipment both in-shop and on job sites. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and has a strong work ethic with a commitment to minimizing equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on equipment.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and system inspections.
  • Complete repairs including engine work, hydraulic system repair, brake systems, welding/fabrication, and electrical system servicing.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, service manuals, and equipment schematics to identify issues accurately.
  • Maintain service records and complete repair documentation using internal systems.
  • Work independently in the field or as part of a team in the shop environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Communicate with customers or project managers regarding equipment condition, repairs needed, and timelines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in diesel mechanics or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or heavy machinery repair.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools, diagnostic software, and testing equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in various outdoor conditions.
