Overview

Robins & Morton, a privately held construction firm headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, seeks a Carpenter to contribute to various healthcare, hospitality, and other specialty projects. We value integrity, safety, and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Take off material quantities accurately.
  • Build square, level and plumb specified project tasks using basic carpentry tools.
  • Create safety provisions such as scaffolding, gang ladders, perimeter railings, fall protection, and temporary covers.
  • Install interior finish items: wall protection, doors & hardware, toilet accessories, cubicle curtain track, TV brackets, lockers, etc.
  • Safely use various carpentry tools (saws, drills, cutting torches).
  • Identify and request required PPE before starting tasks.
  • Operate basic equipment (telescoping forklift, backhoe, skid steer, tractor, etc.).
  • Cut and install interior/exterior wood and metal backing as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma (or GED or equivalent). Preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of carpentry experience, including hanging & taping.
  • Previous experience in hospital construction preferred.
  • 2–5 years installing building specialties, cabinets, windows, countertops, commercial doors, frames & hardware (DFH), or Division 10 items.
  • NCCER training/certification preferred.
  • Ability to read construction documents and execute tasks accordingly.
