Responsible for directing the day to day warehouse activity, including pulling, picking, staging, sorting and loading of customer orders as well as unloading and receiving inbound loads. Assigns resources as necessary to ensure daily goals are met. Provides training on company policies and procedures and ensures these policies and procedures are being followed. This position is the gatekeeper for quality and conducts quality audits on outbound customer loads in addition to providing input on how to improve quality throughout the whole facility.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Must be able to perform all warehouse functions including picking, staging and loading customer orders as well as performing inbound receiving functions.
- Ensures safety policies and procedures are being followed as well as identifies and corrects safety hazards within the facility.
- Responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards and ensuring overall facility cleanliness.
- Provides training on warehouse processes and identifies training needs for warehouse associates.
- Must be able to understand how to properly use a WMS system and be able to train others on its use.
- Must understand the concept of teamwork and practice it each and every day by working cooperatively and productively with others in order to complete tasks. Must be adept at team building and promote the team concept within the facility.
- Must be an active participant in process improvement projects and have the ability to take the lead in forwarding new ideas or work methods.
- Must be flexible and adaptable with the ability to change or adapt work practices based on changing work demands.
- Ensures customer orders are shipped by the expected ship date and all customer requirements are met.
- Must follow Hazmat requirements and Department of Transportation guidelines with regard to shipping and storage or Hazmat materials. Must also be able to train others on Hazmat requirements.
- Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
- Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
High school degree or GED.
Experience/Knowledge- Comprehensive knowledge or administrative and management functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling. Three to five years of previous leadership experience in a warehouse environment.
- Previous WMS experience (SAP experience).
- The ability to utilize various personal computers, including, but not limited to, spreadsheets, word processing, and database software.
