Job DescriptionGeneral Statement of Duties:
Full-time visiting assistant professor position in Public Health, with a possibility of renewal for up to three years. Teach undergraduate public health courses, contribute to curriculum and program design and revision, participate in departmental and college-wide activities, and engage in scholarly or creative pursuits. An earned Ph.D. in Public Health or related discipline is strongly preferred. Candidates with a Ph.D. in a related discipline with an MPH working towards their doctorate (e.g. ABD) will be considered.
An earned MPH is required. Preference will be given to those who show evidence of excellence in teaching.
- Teach a standard workload of four courses (12 credit hours) per semester. Courses include introductory and upper level public health courses, as well as supervision of internships.
- Provide student assistance including office hours and student advising.
- Participate in curriculum review and development and student outcomes assessment.
- Participate in committee meetings and university functions, including Commencement and Convocation.
- Participate in continuing scholarship and professional activities, which include contribution to the content of the discipline, participation in or contribution to professional organizations and societies, public service and contributions to the professional growth and development of the university community.
- An earned MPH is required. An earned Ph.D. in Public Health or related discipline is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated evidence of teaching experience in college level public health or health science courses.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching.
- Ability to integrate appropriate technology and software in teaching.
- Evidence or potential of scholarly/creative activity.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
- Ability to perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Appointment:
September 1, 2026 - May 31, 2027
Full-time, 9 month benefited position (one year visiting professor position).
Salary commensurate with experience in accordance with Appendix O of the MSCA contract. A reasonable starting salary range to expect for a new faculty member appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor is $70,.
There are opportunities to teach summer, winter term, online, and undergraduate and graduate courses.
