Job Description Performance Responsibilities- Teaches full-time to students in grades 9-12.
- Demonstrates knowledge of safe working practices and equipment used in industry related to engineering.
- Demonstrates familiarity with all learning strands in the MA Chapter 74 Curriculum Frameworks issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- Delivers instruction to students in accordance with the MA Chapter 74 Curriculum Frameworks.
- Grades and monitors student progress through the use of progress reports, report cards, and student competency lists.
- Contacts parents to notify them of their students’ progress – both positive and concerning, whenever necessary.
- Collaborates with program advisory, industry partners and post-secondary instructors to identify opportunities for instructional/curriculum improvements, co‑operative learning placements or articulation agreements.
- Attends special education Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, where the teacher’s presence is required.
- Follow all instructional guidelines and practices as required by the teacher contract.
- Carries out other duties as assigned by the Superintendent‑Director.
This position may require long periods of standing and lifting up to 50 lbs. The teacher may also be required to operate hand tools and motor equipment and may work in confined spaces with exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, and gases.
Terms of Employment- Ten‑month, school year position (183 days).
- Initial salary will be established by the Superintendent‑Director in accordance with the Teachers’ Contract.
- Fringe benefits as outlined in the Teachers’ Contract.
As per the Teachers’ Contract.

- Must hold the appropriate Chapter 74 teaching license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or be eligible to obtain such a license. Requirements to obtain include:
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Five years of recent (within the last seven years), full‑time employment experience directly related to plumbing
- Passing score on each of the written and performance exam for plumbing
- Possession of a current MA Journeyman Plumber license
- Possession of a current MA Master Plumber license
- Achieve a passing score of either Vocational Technical Literacy Skills or Communication and Literacy Skills
- Must demonstrate the ability to work with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the public in creating an atmosphere where individuals feel welcome and respected.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Must be comfortable using computers and software.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- May have such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent‑Director deems appropriate and acceptable.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- High School/Trade School degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
