The Office of Student Engagement and Campus Center is seeking a student for employment. This position is funded by the University. All undergraduate students looking for employment are welcome to apply.

The campus center, housed within Hammond Hall, has been student‑run since 1977 and has grown significantly over the past four decades, many changes have been made as the needs of our students change and grow. This building, however, still serves its original purpose and offers itself as a place where students can spend time socializing and expanding themselves outside the classroom.

Hammond Hall houses everything from offices and services for students to the Gallucci‑Cirolio Library and the North Street Bistro. The Information Desk is an area of the Campus Center and the staff reports to the Associate Director of Campus Center Operations.

• Assist with the operation of the Information Desk
• Provide friendly quality customer service to patrons
• Provide patrons information to the correct and appropriate resource through clerical duties such as answering phones and emails
• Maintain a clean, organized and professional appearance to the desk
• Keep the brochure rack clean and stocked
• Update the Rave Alert system with faculty absences and class cancellations, as necessary
• Strong computer and typing/record‑keeping skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Stamp and distribute posters around Hammond
• Other duties as assigned

Shift Information:

Employees should expect to work at least 8, but no more than 20, hours per week at $15.00 per hour. Be advised this position is a student employment position; all applicants are requested to apply online utilizing the Fitchburg State jobsite to be considered an active candidate.
