Fitchburg School District – 2026 District-Wide Special Ed Summer Program – Certified Teachers and Related Service Providers. Multiple positions. $45.00 an hour.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university;
  Master’s Degree preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license.
• Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations.
• Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children to problem-solve.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders.
• Belief in the commitment to increasing personal growth, both academic and social-emotional, to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student.
• Experience and ability to meet the needs of students with multiple needs.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing curriculum and/or project-based enrichment activities.
• Experience with literacy & science integration.
• Experience with technology and classroom applications.

• Academic instruction for ELA and/or Math based on IEP requirements.
• Support IEP goals through programming to support daily living skills, academic goals, behaviors and social goals.
• Guide SEL supports and small student support activities or counseling as needed.
• Attend orientation training.
• Maintain attendance data and individual student portfolios.
• Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned by Coordinators and Director.
• Submit timesheets for payroll processing.

• Monday, July 6, 2026 – Thursday, August 6, 2026 (5-week program).
• Hours:
  
  7:45–12:00 (potential extended hours on field‑trip days).
• Pre‑school:
  Monday July 7, 2025 – Thursday July 24, 2025.
  
  Hours:
  
  8:45–11:30.
• Additional 8 hours available for preparation.
• Mandatory orientation:
  Monday, June 29, 2026, 8:00–12:00 at FHS.
• NTE 100 hours ($45/hr; not to exceed $4,500).
• Timesheet submission for payment bi‑weekly.

NOTE: This is a temporary summer assignment only for non‑FPS employees. There is no assurance of continued employment.

Job assignments are at the discretion of the Director of Special Education.

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of NCBC (fingerprinting) and CORI prior to your start of employment.
