We are seeking an innovative, student‑centered educator to join our faculty as a full‑time STEM Teacher specializing in Engineering and Environmental Science. This unique position offers the opportunity to teach Introduction to Engineering, Environmental Science, and Advanced Placement (AP) Environmental Science while helping expand and strengthen our STEM curriculum.
This is an ideal role for an educator who enjoys hands‑on learning, project‑based instruction, and preparing students to tackle real‑world challenges through science, engineering, and environmental stewardship.
What You’ll Do- Teach Introduction to Engineering, Environmental Science, and AP Environmental Science courses.
- Design engaging, rigorous lessons that prepare students for college‑level coursework and future careers.
- Incorporate hands‑on projects, engineering design challenges, laboratory experiences, and field‑based learning opportunities.
- Foster critical thinking, problem‑solving, creativity, and collaboration in the classroom.
- Support the continued growth of STEM offerings and help develop future engineering, environmental, and technology‑related electives.
- Utilize real‑world applications and current environmental issues to make learning relevant and meaningful.
- Provide timely feedback and meaningful assessment to support student growth.
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment where all students can thrive.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities and strengthen the school's academic program.
- Contribute to the broader life of the school through advising, extracurricular activities, and community engagement.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Biology, Physical Science, Education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach Environmental Science and AP Environmental Science.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and/or experience teaching engineering, robotics, design, technology, or related STEM coursework.
- Passion for hands‑on, project‑based learning and student‑centered instruction.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to academic excellence and preparing students for college and career success.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to help build and strengthen STEM opportunities for students.
- Ability to meet all Massachusetts background check and fingerprinting requirements.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
