2026 District-Wide Special Ed Summer Program – Uncertified Teachers and Special Education, Pre K–12+
$35.00 an hour
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university;
Master’s Degree preferred; - Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license;
- Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations;
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solve;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders;
- Belief in the commitment to increasing personal growth, both academic and social emotional, to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student;
- Experience and ability to meet the needs of students with multiple needs;
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing curriculum and/or project-based enrichment activities;
- Experience with literacy and science integration;
- Experience with Technology and classroom application.
- Academic Instruction for ELA and/or Math based on IEP requirements;
- Support IEP goals through programming to support daily living skills, academic goals, behaviors and social goals;
- Guidance SEL supports and small student support activities or counseling as needed;
- Attend orientation training;
- Maintain attendance data and individual student portfolios;
- Duties and responsibilities as needed by Coordinators and Director;
- Timesheets must be submitted for payroll processing.
- Monday, July 6, 2026 – Thursday, August 6, 2026 (5-week program);
- Hours:
7:45‑12:00 (with potential extended hours on field trip days); - Pre‑school:
Monday July 7, 2025 – Thursday July 24, 2025;
Hours 8:00‑11:30; - Additional 8 Hours available for preparation;
- Mandatory Orientation:
Monday, June 29, 2026, 8:00‑12:00 at FHS; - NTE 100 hours $45/hr for Certified Teachers Not To Exceed (NTE): $4,500;
- Timesheet submission for payment bi-weekly.
This position is temporary for the summer dates listed. There is no assurance of continued employment, as this is a temporary summer assignment only for non-FPS employees.
Job assignments are at the discretion of the Director of Special Education.
An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of NCBC (fingerprinting) and CORI prior to your start of employment.
