Fitchburg State University has created an “Open Pool” vacancy announcement for part‑time day and evening adjunct faculty by discipline. The faculty chair and the divisional dean/associate vice president will review applications when a specific need for an adjunct to fill a course scheduled in the academic year for both day and/or evening classes arises.
Applicants are asked to indicate their preference for teaching in the day, evening, or both. Applications are accepted from July 1 through June 30 of each academic year. At the end of the academic year, the pool will be refreshed and active applicants will be required to re‑apply. Those selected to remain in the pool will keep their status for a three‑year period.
ApplicationInstructions
Selected candidates will be required to complete a CORI check and the Student Clearinghouse Authorization form prior to hire. Following acceptance, candidates will receive an email with additional preliminary information. The form authorizes the university to qualify degrees held through the National Student Clearinghouse. If necessary, official transcripts for all degrees held must be submitted to the Office of Human Resources & Payroll Services at 160 Pearl Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
In addition to the application materials, three letters of recommendation will be required.
