Role Overview
Fitchburg State University is searching for part‑time Adjunct Instructors to teach a variety of in‑person computer science courses.
ResponsibilitiesAll part‑time faculty are responsible for providing students with a high‑quality learning environment while utilizing their focused expertise and experience in their individual classroom, laboratories and studios.
The Computer Science Department is looking for dedicated individuals who have demonstrated teaching excellence, interest in and ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Computer Science and Computer Information Systems. Teaching responsibilities may include hardware and software courses, programming courses in Java/Python, networks and databases, and other courses that meet the needs of the department.
QualificationsA minimum of a Master’s degree with substantial experience in Computer Science or a closely related field; commitment to excellence in teaching.
Must be able to teach on campus for in‑person classes.
Ability to teach courses in a variety of programming languages and other courses is preferred. Preference will also be given to flexible applicants who can develop/teach courses that contribute to both our undergraduate and graduate Computer Science programs, and teach our regular graduate courses in late afternoon or evening time slots.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to integrate appropriate instructional technology and innovative teaching techniques is highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
