Job DescriptionPerformance responsibilities:
The MVP Academy Director will foster a positive school climate, manage student behavior, and serve as the primary connection between students, faculty, and administration to promote student success and well-being.
- Enforce the student code of conduct, handle disciplinary procedures, and implement restorative or mediation practices as needed.
- Ensure proper emotional and mental health supports are in place for the student body; act as a resource for at‑risk students or those in crisis.
- Coordinate extracurricular activities, clubs, orientations, and student leadership programs in collaboration with the MVP Program Administrator, instructors, and staff to build community.
- Develop institutional policies, track attendance, and prepare statistical reports to evaluate student needs in collaboration with the MVP Program Administrator and sending district administrators, instructors, and staff.
- Collaborate with industry partners and area employers to schedule visits to foster partnerships that enhance students’ work experience and address workforce needs.
- Design and implement MVP Academy print and web communications with the district’s Development Coordinator and Community Outreach Specialist, including publications, brochures, posters, advertisements, social media graphics, and photographs.
- Create and update the program’s social media sites to reflect current events and student achievements while ensuring consistent branding according to guidelines.
- Publicize and help organize Academy events (e.g., employer guest speakers, job fairs, on-site interviews, chamber tours) to benefit participating students.
- Maintain a library of high‑quality images used to promote the school.
- Correspond daily with sending school district officials regarding attendance, transportation, and behavioral or health-related issues.
- Work with MVP instructional staff to input purchase requisitions, track staff attendance, and receive/distribute mail and packages promptly.
- Assist with orderly arrival and dismissal of students, delivery and distribution of school lunches, and upkeep of a welcoming student common area and reception area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent-Director or the Director of Vocational Programs.
This position may require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee must be able to lift 15–20 pounds and will be required to keep the student lounge area clean, wipe down tables, and take out trash as needed.
Terms of EmploymentTen-month school year position plus ten days (193 days).
Initial salary will be established by the Superintendent-Director in accordance with the non-union personnel policy. Fringe benefits as outlined in the non-union personnel policy.
EvaluationIn accordance with the School Committee Policy.

- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Documentation noting a passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills test.
- At least three full years of employment in a leadership, supervisory, teaching, or administrative role in a public school, with preference for Massachusetts vocational school experience.
- Administrative Apprenticeship/Internship in Principal/Assistant Principal role or supervised practicum in that role is preferred.
- MA Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Teacher or Administrator or Bilingual Education Endorsement preferred.
- Ability to manage daily operations of a workforce training center with multiple programs and staff.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with staff, students, and guests.
- Ability to understand and align with the mission of the MVP Academy and related opportunities.
- Experience leading a team and working independently as needed.
Reports To: MVP Academy Program Administrator
Job Goal: Oversee daily operations of the MVP Academy and foster a strong, respectful educational community; ensure student success and retention through collaboration with students, instructors, and sending school liaisons.
