Membership to the Fitchburg State University part time adjunct faculty pool is open to qualified and competent experts, external to the Fitchburg State University faculty, who possess skills,education, and experience in academic and/or professional areas.

The Department of Humanities at Fitchburg State University invites applications for Adjunct Faculty in Music. We occasionally haveopenings to a range of music history classes, including surveycourses such as Art of Music, interdisciplinary arts/music course

Commonwealth of the Arts, as well other music history or theorycourses, which may include a variety of genres such as Jazz,Classical, World, or Popular Music. Strong candidates will have askill set that balances scholarship in history/theory/musicologyand performance ability, as appropriate for the specific courses tobe taught.

• Master's Degree in Music
• Preferred:
• Doctorate in Music (or ABD)
• Applicants should have relevant teaching experience, preferably ina university environment.

Fitchburg State University has created an "Open Pool" vacancy announcement for part time day and evening adjunct faculty by discipline. The faculty chair and the divisional dean/associatevice president will review applications submitted when there is aspecific need for part time adjunct to fill a course scheduled inthe academic year for both the day and/or evening classes.

The application process will require that applicants designate their preference for teaching in the day, evening or both. Please attach a letter of interest and resume when applying for any parttime teaching position.

Applications submitted will be maintained from July 1st through

June 30th for each academic year. At the conclusion of the academic year the pool will be refreshed and applicants will be required toreapply. Applications selected to be maintained in the pool will remain active for a three year period.
