Job DescriptionSizer School, a North Central Charter Essential School, is seeking an innovative, student-centered Engineering & Technology Teacher to join our community. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and hands-on technical skills while maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
At Sizer, our small community enables us to develop close relationships with every student and provide precisely what they need to enjoy success. Teachers play a crucial role in the direction of the school and take on a wide variety of leadership roles.
Essential Job FunctionsTeach courses in technology and engineering and integrate engineering design processes, emerging technologies, and real-world applications into coursework. Units could include:
- Introduction to Coding
- Advanced Coding
- Engineering design
- CAD design
- Prototyping
- Robotics
Develop and implement project-based, inquiry-driven instruction.
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners.
Regular in-person attendance
Qualifications Required- Bachelor’s degree in Technology Education, Engineering, Industrial Technology, STEM Education, or related field.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Experience with project-based learning and hands-on instruction.
- Dedication to the Sizer School mission
- Thorough knowledge of curriculum design, MA Common Core, and assessment tools
- Highly qualified to teach in the assignment area; MA DESE License with SEI Endorsement preferred. Mandatory within the first year of employment.
- Successful experience teaching in a diverse school environment.
- Innovative team player with proven history of service.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to pass CORI and National Criminal Background Check.
- Master’s degree in Education, Engineering, Technology, or related field.
- Industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, robotics, computer science, or related technical fields.
- Experience with CAD software, robotics platforms, fabrication tools, or coding instruction.
- Familiarity with FIRST Robotics, Project Lead the Way (PLTW), or similar STEM programs.
