Job Description About the PositionThe TRIO SSS Student Experience Coordinator is responsible for developing and coordinating a comprehensive four-year curriculum of programming for students participating in TRIO SSS. The Coordinator will create a developmental sequence of educational, professional,and experiential opportunities designed to support students throughout their college journey and prepare them for successfulgraduation and their next steps after college.
Programming will focus on four primary areas: financial literacy,academic skills, career exploration and readiness, and experiential learning. Experiential learning opportunities may include undergraduate research, internships, study abroad, leadershipexperiences, conferences, and other high-impact educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities Program Development and Student ExperienceCreate a developmental progression of programming that buildsstudents' knowledge, skills, confidence, and independence fromtheir first year through graduation.
Develop annual programming calendars that align with students'developmental needs and the TRIO SSS program's goals and objectives.
Financial LiteracyDevelop and coordinate financial literacy programming focused on practical skills for college and life after graduation.
Academic SkillsCoordinate workshops and activities addressing time management,study strategies, organization, academic planning, research,writing, presentations, and other academic skills.
Develop programming that progresses from foundational skills in thefirst year to advanced academic preparation and graduate-school readiness in later years.
Career Exploration and ReadinessDevelop a four-year career development sequence beginning withself-exploration and career awareness and progressing towardprofessional preparation.
Coordinate programming in collaboration with the Career Services and Advising Center related to resumes, cover letters,interviewing, networking, professional communication, job searches,internships, and graduate school.
Experiential LearningDevelop and expand opportunities for TRIO SSS students to participate in high-impact experiences including undergraduate research, internships, study abroad, service learning, conferences,leadership programs, and professional development.
Student Engagement and PartnershipsBuild strong relationships with TRIO SSS students and promoteactive participation in program opportunities.
Support student leadership and encourage students to takeincreasing ownership of their educational and professional development.
Assessment and AdministrationEstablish learning outcomes and measures of success for programming.
Manage program logistics, including scheduling, communications,registration, materials, budgets, and event coordination.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience working with first-generation college students and/or developing student-focused programs.
- Experience coordinating educational, professional development,career, or student engagement programs.
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
This is a contracted position that ends August 31, 2027. Contractor hours cannot exceed 20 hours per week.
The hourly rate is $30 per hour.
