Job Description & How to Apply Below

Modu Form, Inc., a leader in furniture manufacturing, is seeking a hands‑on Product Design Technician who’s ready to do more than sit behind a screen. In this role, you’ll help transform new furniture concepts into clear, accurate technical drawings and production‑ready models. You’ll work closely with engineering, design, and production—not just in meetings, but on the shop floor—to understand how your work impacts real‑world results.

We're looking for someone who’s technically skilled, curious, and eager to ask questions, solve problems, and keep projects moving forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and revise 2D/3D CAD models
  • Assist in developing parts and assembly drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
  • Prepare fabrication and production documentation: generate cut sheets, dimensioned prints, and CNC‑ready layouts for use in manufacturing and assembly.
  • Support new product development: participate in early‑stage design discussions and help translate concepts into manufacturable solutions—balancing form, function, and cost.
  • Update legacy products and documentation: assist in revising existing drawings and documents based on engineering changes, production feedback, or cost improvements, while maintaining revision control.
  • Support prototyping and fit validation: participate in prototype builds and part evaluations to verify fit, tolerances, and assembly accuracy.
  • Assist with BOM and ERP data setup (Global Shop Solutions): learn how to create and update item masters, part numbers, BOMs, and routings to ensure CAD and ERP systems stay aligned.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and vendors: provide drawing packages or technical specs to support material sourcing and vendor communication under the direction of the engineering team.
  • Follow the company drawing and data standards: maintain consistent file organization, naming conventions, and revision control to support traceability and cross‑departmental communication.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methods and shop floor processes
  • Understanding of BOMs, routings, and ERP systems
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Benefits
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), FSA, and HSA options
  • Life insurance and short/long‑term disability
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid holidays and vacation
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. This role involves both office and shop floor work and may occasionally require lifting materials during prototyping.
