Full-time About The Company

Our client is an established, multi-site engineering and manufacturing company that designs and builds custom electro-mechanical products for customers in industrial, medical, and aerospace and defense markets. About

The Role

The Quality Manager leads and improves the company's quality management systems. You will own product quality, process efficiency, and regulatory compliance across operations, with a direct effect on the company's reputation with customers in industrial, IoT, medical, and aerospace markets.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the quality management system so products and processes meet internal, customer, and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the quality and inspection team to hit departmental goals and customer expectations.
  • Review and approve engineering packets for new orders as part of cross-functional reviews.
  • Develop and implement process control plans and PFMEAs.
  • Work with external customers and suppliers on product non-conformances, conducting failure analysis when required.
  • Initiate and manage internal and external corrective actions (CARs and SCARs).
  • Supervise incoming and first article inspection, ensuring accurate and timely customer PPAP reports.
  • Set sampling plans, forms, and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability trend data.
  • Manage the calibration program, keeping tooling and equipment on schedule and calibration records accurate.
  • Drive continuous improvement using FMEA, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing methods.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, resolve problems, and put effective solutions in place.
  • Manage engineering projects, including scheduling based on customer requirements.
Must-have Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive quality experience, including leading a team.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Experience with FMEA, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Engineering project management and scheduling driven by customer requirements.
  • Reads mechanical and electrical blueprints and technical specifications, with familiarity in CAD software.
  • Strong math and statistics foundation, and the analytical skill to take a problem from root cause to solution.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with managers, customers, and the floor, including handling conflict and negotiation.
  • Organized enough to run multiple projects and priorities at once, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to work an off-shift when the work requires it.
Additional Requirements
