Job Summary:
We are seeking a tech-savvy and enthusiastic AV Student Technician to join our team. As an AV Student Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing audiovisual support and ensuring the seamless operation of audio, video, and lighting equipment for events on campus. You will receive training and work alongside experienced technicians to develop your skills in AV equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

This position is funded by the university and all undergraduate students looking for employment are welcome to apply. Please see below the specific duties and responsibilities for the position.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment for events on campus.
• Provide support for basic stage lighting needs, including setup and operation.
• Ensure that event spaces are clean, organized, and properly equipped.
• Greet and assist clients upon their arrival at events.
• Communicate any repairs or requirements needed for equipment.
• Clean and maintain storage closets and AV equipment.
• Work efficiently and deliver superior customer service.
• Develop effective verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Flexible schedule with the availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Previous experience working in a related audio visual events venue or other audio visual experience.
• Knowledge of audio visual equipment, computer systems, and stage lighting.
• Familiarity with presentation software and AV interfaces.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and identify necessary resources.
• Excellent teamwork skills.

This is a part-time, non-benefited student only position. Hours vary not to exceed 20 hours per week. Hourly rate $15.00.
