Job Overview
SHINE Technologies is immediately seeking an Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) / Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, procurement, and testing of systems used to power, control, and monitor processes for the molybdenum‑99 production facility and external customers. The role involves directing a team of Electrical and Software Engineers to implement control strategies, develop control system hardware and software, and ensure instrument selection and power distribution support isotope production for health and clean energy applications.
Responsibilities- Hire, develop and lead a team of I&C and electrical engineers focused on control systems, instruments, power supply design, and installation of SHINE equipment.
- Lead interfaces between stakeholders and the I&C team.
- Mentor engineers in technology, decision‑making, and ownership of I&C equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and functional managers to develop project requirements, plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Oversee the development of digital and analog control systems, including distributed control systems (DCS), programmable automation controllers (PAC/PLC), and data acquisition systems (DAQ).
- Develop partnerships with contractors to aid the team as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to select instruments measuring process variables.
- Update instrument specifications, calculations, and test plans to support design, construction, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operation.
- Aid commissioning, turnover to Operations, and provide ongoing support of instruments.
- Support business development by participating in customer interface and providing relevant technical information for bids.
- BS in Engineering or related field; BS Electrical Engineering is desirable. Advanced education or certifications are a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in instruments and controls or related area, preferably leading an engineering team.
- Strong leadership, motivation, coaching, and inspiration skills for a high‑speed startup environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and deliver results aligned with company goals.
- Experience in personnel management.
- Working knowledge of electrical power distribution for commercial level systems (e.g., 120 VAC, 480 V 3‑phase, DC).
- Excellent written communication and organizational skills.
- Project management experience with Agile and Waterfall methods.
- Decision‑making confidence and ability to delegate technical decisions.
- Experience in highly regulated environments such as the nuclear power industry is desirable.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar business process environments.
- Eligibility for employment conditioned on qualifying for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls and meeting NRC requirements, including pre‑employment drug screen, fingerprinting, and criminal background check.
Base salary range: $130,000 – $165,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package.
