Reports to:
Store Manager.
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties. They are knowledgeable in each product area of the store, contribute to achieving store goals, and uphold company policies and standards. They promote sales, provide customer experience, and act as an ambassador for Hibbett I City Gear. In the Store Manager’s absence, the Manager in Training assumes full supervisory control and is trained on the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist the Store Manager in controlling the store assets and inventory.
- Collaborate on action plans to support departmental and store-wide goals, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
- Assume responsibility for the entire store in the Store Manager’s absence.
- Provide guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
- Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to maintain profitability.
- Direct staff to achieve departmental responsibilities and standards.
- Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movements and customer trends.
- Maintain quality customer service and protect company assets.
- Perform general administrative duties and support the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
- Deliver outstanding customer service, especially during peak periods.
- Promote and sell merchandise and services offered by Hibbett I City Gear.
- Uphold all policies, procedures, and standards listed in the operations, personnel, visual, customer service manuals, and company memos.
- Ensure accuracy of internal control procedures and report potential fraud risks to management.
- Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Carry out supervisory duties in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, train, plan, assign, and direct work, and resolve problems.
- 3–4 years of customer service experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear or athletic apparel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage a team toward goals and profit targets.
- Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being prompted.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
- Team‑player who is passionate about outstanding customer service and sales.
