Salary: $18.00 per hour (Grade 17). Closing Date:

The Arizona Historical Society is seeking two (2) dedicated Administrative Assistant 3 positions. Under general supervision, the role is responsible for front‑desk admission and gift‑shop sales, volunteer training, special events, inventory management, outreach and membership programs, meeting minutes, facility cleaning, supply ordering, and vendor scheduling.
Job Duties- Front‑desk and gift-shop sales: cashier duties, collect and account for fees for museum admission, memberships, and store purchases; provide information and respond to public inquiries.
- Annual cashier reports: record cash handling, revenue, attendance, time sheets, deposits, mailings, meeting minutes, and facility rental contract tracking.
- Special events: host visitors, research event requirements, develop checklists, coordinate logistics, support facility rental use, and provide specialized tours.
- Cleaning: maintain museum interior and exterior areas including kitchen, bathrooms, gift shop, exhibit spaces and front porch.
- Knowledge of general office procedures, customer service, retail sales, ticketing, POS systems, and office equipment.
- Skill in oral and written communication; use of Google Workspace and Microsoft products; teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to demonstrate interpersonal relationships; plan, analyze, coordinate activities and establish priorities; research, learn, and adhere to state rules and regulations.
- Associate’s degree in history, museum studies, or related field.
- At least two years of experience in customer service, retail sales, volunteer management, library, education, or museum work.
- Any combination of training and experience that meets required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.
- Must be able to obtain a State of Arizona driver’s license.
- All newly hired State employees must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E‑Verify).
