- Coordinates specialized departmental function
- Assists with the supervision, training, and evaluation of support personnel
- Provides training to assigned staff
- Receives, reviews, processes and distributes confidential and sensitive documents
- Processes documents related to misdemeanor, felony, and civil cases
- Prepares and maintains records and reports
- Researches records and disburses information
- Composes, formats and types correspondence, reports and other documents
- Assists other agencies with information and explaining procedures
- May prepare and maintain accounting and other records
- May handle and account for cash in various amounts
Essential functions of this position include but not limited to: sitting, walking, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, reaching, bending and crawling for filing; working with and around others; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand/wrist/elbow/ shoulder) for computer work, filing, copying etc.; vision acuity (near) for computer work and reading documents; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; finger dexterity and touch for typing.
Three years of experience in clerical work and one year experience in Justice Court environment; OR
Associate's degree in a related field and two years of experience in clerical work and one year experience in Justice Court environment; OR
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of experience in clerical work and one year experience in Justice Court environment; OR
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
This position is not exempt from overtime.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must pass fingerprint clearance.
Considerable knowledge of:- Justice Court terms and meanings
- Legal terminology, statutes and court procedures
- Office practices and procedures
- Rules and procedures of department, including state and federal law
- Word processing, spread sheets and other computer applications
- Business English, spelling and arithmetic
- The operation and maintenance of a variety of office equipment
- Customer service
- Researching and problem solving
- Organizing and coordinating the efforts of court personnel
- Analyze legal documents and interpret statutory requirements
- Perform complex administrative functions with speed and accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality and work under pressure in a dynamic environment with changing program demands and priorities
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
- Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Type and perform data entry accurately
- Prepare and maintain complex records and reports
