Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction (Kingman / Flagstaff, AZ Region)

Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000 (based on experience and qualifications)

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in heavy civil construction
, specializing in underground utilities and earthwork
. This position will support projects throughout the Kingman–Flagstaff region
, ensuring smooth coordination between the field, office, and project management teams.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive — capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Project Manager and field leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
. - Coordinate daily operations with superintendents and foremen
, including materials, subcontractors, equipment, and quality control. - Ensure strict compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards
. - Manage scope changes
, assist with scheduling
, and process change orders
. - Support project planning
, including definition, scope, resources, and baseline scheduling. - Prepare and coordinate key plans such as traffic control, erosion control, safety
, and equipment mobilization
. - Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure timely, high-quality execution.
- Utilize Viewpoint for project documentation, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
, or equivalent field experience. - Minimum 3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction (earthwork, underground utilities, highways, or structures).
- Proficiency in Viewpoint preferred; experience with Alternative Delivery methods (Design-Build, CM/GC) is a plus.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
