As a Customer Service Representative with the Police Department at the City of Flagstaff, you will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, welcoming them with professionalism while helping maintain building security and addressing their needs. This role requires clear and effective communication in both spoken and written English, courteous and efficient telephone handling, and strict adherence to department procedures.
Key responsibilities include performing fingerprinting services (both digital and ink), managing cash transactions and issuing receipts, assisting with inmate property release, and handling outgoing mail. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to confidentiality, builds positive relationships with both staff and the public, and supports daily operations with accuracy, reliability, and a willingness to take on additional duties as needed.

- Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business.
- Greets all incoming visitors with courtesy and promptness at the front entrance; ascertains their business; maintains building security while assisting them.
- Communicates on the telephone professionally and courteously.
- Comprehends and follows police department procedures both oral and written.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees and members of the public.
- Fingerprint digital and ink.
- Maintains confidentiality about information learned on the job.
- Handles money, makes changes correctly, and issues receipts for requested incident reports.
- Assists with inmate release property.
- Collects any outgoing mail to be picked up by mail carrier.
- Performs other work as assigned.

Customer Service Representative - Police Job Description
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of computer experience including Microsoft Office products, email, and the Internet.
- One year of cash-handling experience
- Requires someone who can work all shifts.
- Or any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the above Minimum Requirements.
