POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES- Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Tracks and reports statistics for program area.
- Performs related duties, as assigned.
- Serves as the lead for the Books by Mail program, including processing requests, preparing materials and mailings, communicating with patrons, and providing direction to other staff.
- Coordinates requests from other organizations who would like to set up an information table in the library to connect with library users and discuss their resources and services.
- Assists with marketing of library services and resources by staffing information booths at local events.
- Attends meetings for local charities and service organizations, reporting back to Library staff about community needs and program opportunities.
- Presents information about library services and resources to local shelters.
- Participates in employment programming and outreach.
- Organizes on and off-Site programming (e.g. a senior book club at a senior center).
- Maintains display cases and manages some special displays (e.g. biannual quilt show); oversees the regular display calendar for both downtown display cases and staff book displays.
- Associates degree or two (2) years of college level coursework.
- Two (2) years of experience working in a library including one year working with computers and on-line resources, including library circulation software.
- Any combination of relevant education and relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Desired Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible employment in the library field.
- Knowledge of the local community and its resources.
- Fluency in a language other than English, particularly Diné, Hopi, and/or Spanish.
- Basic knowledge of and experience with collection development/maintenance.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity.
- Must pass background, criminal history, and fingerprint check.
- Basic understanding of communication and customer service principles. Demonstrates competent written and verbal communication.

Our total compensation package includes best-in-class benefits and an annual salary of $42,556.80 - $63,835.20, based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Plus:
