REECE STUDIO ARCHITECTS is a full-service, collaborative architecture firm based in Flagstaff, Arizona, specializing in custom residential design. Architectural Drafter who takes pride in producing accurate work, is eager to learn, and wants to grow professionally within a small, collaborative studio.
ROLEThe Architectural Drafter will work closely with our architectural team to develop accurate, well-coordinated drawing sets for custom residential projects.
Responsibilities will include:- Preparing and developing architectural drawings and construction documents
- Producing floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and other project documentation
- Translating design sketches, concepts, and markups into clear and accurate drawings
- Updating drawings and models throughout design development and construction documentation
- Coordinating drawing sets for permitting and construction
- Assisting with consultant coordination and incorporating information from structural, civil, mechanical, and other disciplines
- Maintaining organized project files, drawing standards, and version control
- Assisting with code research and documentation
- Participating in internal project reviews and coordination meetings
- Visiting project sites as needed to gain firsthand understanding of existing conditions and construction
This position will begin as part-time, on-site position in Flagstaff, Arizona and requires regular in-person collaboration with our team.
REQUIREMENTS- Strong drafting and technical documentation skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency with CAD and/or BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable architectural software
- Ability to develop floor plans, elevations, sections, and architectural details from sketches, markups, and design direction
- Foundational understanding of architectural design, construction methods, building systems, and residential building codes
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain consistent drawing and file-management standards
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, incorporate feedback, and follow projects through successive revisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative attitude and willingness to work closely with architects, consultants, builders, and other project stakeholders
- 3-5 years of relevant architectural drafting or professional architecture experience
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered
- Interest in pursuing architectural licensure; candidates actively working toward AXP/ARE requirements are encouraged to apply
- Internship or professional experience in an architecture firm
- Experience with custom residential architecture
- Experience preparing construction documents and permit sets
- Familiarity with residential construction methods, detailing, and building assemblies
- Familiarity with Northern Arizona building conditions, materials, climate, and/or local permitting processes
- Experience coordinating architectural drawings with consultants
- Experience with 3D modeling, visualization, or rendering software
- Interest in learning how projects move from initial design through documentation and construction
