Nursing offers the undergraduate program at locations around the state of Arizona including Flagstaff, Phoenix (North Valley), Tucson, and Yuma. Some degree programs are also offered online. The Maria and Steve Sanghi College of Nursing is growing in order to meet the demand for nurses around the state, especially in rural and underserved areas.

The Maria and Steve Sanghi College of Nursing (SCN) seeks a Financial Oversight Analyst, Senior to join our team and serve as a primary liaison for the college in supporting finances across the college. SCN is in need of the right candidate to help the complete a variety of financial tasks and to meet budgetary goals. The right candidate will have experience and interest in finance, accounting, budget data analysis and compliance.

75% - Budget Oversight, Analysis and Management

• Oversee expenses and propose modifications as necessary.
• Manage state, local, grant and foundation accounts.
• Gather data, prepare and present monthly budget summaries, analyze and offer recommendations.
• Compare actual financial data to budgets, evaluate and research areas of divergence.
• Prepare departmental budgets and forecasts for review by key stakeholders.
• Monitor financial transactions for compliance with policy.
• Prepare and initiate journal transfers as needed.
• Provide oversight and management of PCard expenses.
• Review and analyze appropriate use of class, program and college fees.
• Preparation of specific expense tracking as requested by departments and key stakeholders.
• Creates forecasts and models of various future financial scenarios, guiding university planning decisions.
• Develops procedures and controls related to fiscal issues within the college in collaboration with the Director, Operations.
• Ensures Department adherence to financial procedures and controls implemented by the university and other entities as appropriate.
• Responsible for providing accurate account coding for CON travel, personnel, and purchasing while aligning with funding use guidelines and budget limitations.
• Primary financial resource and point of contact for department Directors, faculty and staff.
• Serve as liaison for all service team transactions.
• Initiate, review, and approve service purchase and travel requests for budget compliance and offers recommendations.
• Coordinates with the budget office to initiate/recycle positions and initiate funding changes as needed.

15% - Grants and Contract Management

• Responsible for properly managing the college budget, including grants and foundation funds in compliance with university policies and Federal grant Uniform Guidance.
• Responsible for accurate and timely grant reporting including verification of information.
• Responsible for reviewing and organizing financial data for sponsored projects activity within the college including proposals.
• Initiate and manage contracts and memberships including ITS checklist and tracking.

5% - Training

• Trains faculty and staff with financial functions withing the college; assists and advises within the college on financial and budgetary matters.
• Train faculty and staff on processing payroll, purchasing, contracts, travel and reimbursement.

5% - Other

• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3 years of accounting or finance experience.

* A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.

• Finance experience in higher education.
• Knowledge of grant financial management.

Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge of financial oversight and operations tools, procedures, processes, policies, and concept; such as payroll management systems and budget analysis projects, as well as such as expense tracking, and trend analysis.
• Knowledge of financial reporting in higher education and university budgeting practices.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Skill in financial modeling.
