The Pharmacy Technician plays a key role in supporting efficient and accurate pharmacy operations by assisting with prescription preparation and dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist. This position requires reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to compliance with all regulations and policies. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, delivers exceptional customer service, and works collaboratively with a dynamic team to support patients and advance the organization’s mission.
Responsibilities- Mixes pharmaceutical preparation, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and types labels for bottles.
- Assist Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication.
- Receives and stores incoming supplies.
- Counts stock and enters date in computer to maintain inventory records.
- Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to customer, computers, charges, and enters date in computer.
- Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods.
- Interacts with other medical professionals to fulfill clinic stocking needs.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D).
- A current License as a Pharmacy Technician in accordance with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers.
- 5 years' related experience or training preferred.
- Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment.
- Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver's license and must be in compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.
Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages.
